In Lesson 1 of our DataStreams unit, students practice the PPSTT approach for #dataliteracy as they explore the Google Ngram Viewer. If you've never heard of it–it's an amazingly simple interface for exploring how the frequency of words changes in books over time. books.google.com/ngrams/

This 2-lesson unit is #openaccess for all! Students get to dive into real scientific data, look at evolutionary tradeoffs across animals, and learn about how frog calls are analyzed (in a paper-based activity that students can do in districts without 1:1 laptops). #dataliteracy #EduSky
