I've often speculated/theorycrafted "What if we just had a set of cabinet roles, and elected those instead?" for executive agencies, with proper Democratic recall functions for each. No more executive orders, just a department for the necessary bureaucracy and enforcement arms.

I do think they probably ran his texts through an LLM and it hallucinated crimes. That’s scary and bad and it’s funny they got caught, but imagine how many other times this happens on a day to day basis against people with no rights, let alone the ability to publicly humiliate the AI prosecutor.

The only non-"I want the FBI to knock on my door" way to remove an elected politician from power in the US is for other elected politicians to gang up on them and impeach them. There is no recall system in the federal government, so lying is the winning strategy.
