I really, really, really don't intend to downplay all the very real and, in too many cases, mounting problems in the world today. But I do think it is easy to miss genuine progress, because it usually happens just too slowly for individual humans to easily notice. And that often leads to despair.

But he also was convicted of a bombing and arson of a printer of the newspaper of the Finnish Communist Party. Fuck Nazis.
