Rats in the Walls, the forged in the dark game about rodent adventures in a haunted, clockwork manor, has a new logo sketch and went through four playtest oneshots recently that all went super well! #forgedinthedark

Rats in the Walls, the roleplaying game of rodent stealth and survival in the walls of a Victorian manor #forgedinthedark, just had its fourth playtest in one week, and it's holding up really well! Excited to keep cracking away at it and show more of it to people

What ill effect does this picture have?

I've decided to try my hand at doing a perspective grid - excited to see how it's shaping up, no matter how slow the process is

Early work in progress image using a 6 point perspective grid. The final image is of an altercation between rodents on a chandelier in a victorian bedroom

The same image, now with better defined sketches of the rats comped in. The top of the chandelier is missing, as I'm still working out the shape of it.

Deep in the weeds on the next Rats illustration - the balancing act between "playing fast and look with perspective to achieve a particular effect" and "making sure things don't just look 'wrong' in a bad way" can be a challenge! #digitalillustration #WIP

The initial sketch. Three rats pursue a mouse on an ornate chandelier hanging high above a human bedroom. In the background, a cat sits on the bedroom floor, looking up at the rodents, waiting for someone to fall.

The current WIP. Three rats pursue a mouse on an ornate chandelier. Below we see a quick, messy sketch of a bedroom. The composition uses a cropped a fisheye perspective.

I'm codesigning Rats In The Walls, a forged in the dark game of rodent stealth and survival in a victorian era manor. It's got ghosts, faction warfare, steampunky contraptions. Think The Borrowers meets Secret of NIMH and Watership Down. Here's my first piece of art for it so far. Follow for more!

Can you imagine being tasked with coming up with story contrivences to facilitate the writing of the Jimmy Buffet jukebox musical

Aaaaand I had to see it again before it left theaters - if you have a chance in the next week, go watch Sinners! 🍿

We saw Carsie Blanton in concert last night. We left feeling hopeful. What an incredible artist.

My first illustration for a FitD game I’m designing with @darkwingdork.bsky.social and @talesofkaimere.bsky.social: Rats In The Walls, about rodent stealth and survival in the margins of a spooky human manor- think The Borrowers meets Rats of NIMH. gages.micro.blog/2025/05/13/rats-ar…

An illustration of a woman sitting and drinking tea reading in a gloomy Victorian study, while mysterious rodent figures observe from the shadowy foreground beneath a chair.

My first (work in progress) art work for Rats In The Walls, a Forged in the Dark RPG currently being designed by myself, @darkwingdork.bsky.social and @talesofkaimere.bsky.social about rodents in a human manor. I'll post more with time! #bladesinthedark #wip #illustration #indierpgs #forgedinthedark

Two mice hide beneath the leg of a chair in a Victorian style study. In the background, a woman sits at a window with her tea. One mouse wields a tack sword and gear pack, the other carries a skeleton key.
