The damage Microsoft Word and Powerpoint and all its copycats caused for the ability of the majority of people to structure a document and data is unbelievable. 🫠 can we restart and teach everybody basic html or even markdown.

Not sure about of using Slot here. But I loooove the concept. CSS and HTML became so powerful in recent years. A lot of formerly JS based components lost the reason to use JavaScript at all.

A few months ago someone asked what I think a Custom Elements Manifest generator should look like. Here's my first pass at it. The goal was to make it light weight and easy to use. It's still in the early stages, but let me know what you think. #WebComponents cem-generator.wc-toolkit.com

This label says nothing about the authenticity of the product image. It's really dumb. In a world where Photoshop, 3D visualisation, make-up, food styling and much more are normal in product marketing, the choice of 'AI' without even a viable definition is wildly arbitrary.

The Apple vs. EU debacle illustrates quite nicely why in Europe hardly any Tech Company has a chance. A regulatory and byrocratic corset that even a tech giant can navigate is nearly impossible to break out for startups. And everybody keeps wondering why there’s a lack of European big tech.

How proud some EU politicians are right now, that they managed to make the EU citizens user experience worse, because Apple didn’t bend to their demand to let external AI tool access all user data ion the phone without oversight by the OS. Please try to understand the tech you try to regulate.

Not gonna lie: the baseline status of anchor-position always trips me up. It does not really reflect the actual usability of the spec. And especially javascript centric developers use this to argue against usage of existing web platform features. How can we communicate better on this?
