Amber Gray as Persephone. Holy fuck. 🤩

Glad I took the opportunity to see the Hadestown pro-shot on the big screen. Hoping they make it more widely available on streaming or with a home video release because the performances are spectacular.

You don't understand. "mecha in giant tattered cape" is my love language.

Seem to be good on that front, thankfully. It looks like a bad skip trace linked my annoyingly common name and address to this other person.

On the phone all day with lawyers re this court summons for a bogus debt collector claim. Managed to find a couple of folks decent enough to advise me on next steps, but half a dozen more begging for satirization in an excoriating one man show I'll call Ble2k House.

Attorney won't talk to me because I'm claiming I'm not the person they're looking for, but also won't dismiss the court date.

Paul Montgomery @fuzzytypewriter.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Now I have to call this attorney, convince him he's got the wrong guy (without also giving up my personal information in the event this is a scam). So that's my day I guess.

Got served court docs yesterday. Name + address, mine, but it's for someone who stopped making payments on a car they bought in West Virginia, a state I've never stepped foot in.

95% of this is me struggling to muster any kind of enthusiasm for a Matt Damon movie

It occurs to me that, while I dig the fantastical trappings and appreciate the allegorical potential, I don't really like the Iliad or Odyssey story or characters much at all?

New Ghost in the Shell anime is *very* faithful to the manga thus far. The vibes are immaculate. CRT filters and jazz!

While I love Milly Alcock's Supergirl, I'm not so wild about Craig Gillespie's. The Maiden of Might deserves better in the future, and so does the DCU. My review, with some spoilers: popheist.com/supergirl-20...

'Supergirl' Review: Flattery Will Get You Knowhere - Pop Heist

The new DCU is starting to look undeniably samey in just its second feature-length venture. Supergirl deserves better than hand-me-downs.

That's awesome. I love Pluto. Urasawa is a great introduction because his storytelling is extremely legible, so you can just get your head around the right-to-left aspect without having to worry about much of a learning curve beyond that.

Paul Montgomery @fuzzytypewriter.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

Finished the first volume of Urasawa and Nagasaki's BILLY BAT. That cliffhanger is *diabolical.* Kinda wish these were being released monthly or as 3-in-1s.

Hey, so I had fun with the low-stakes, low-consequence MANDALORIAN & GROGU. I think you might too if you're a freak for weird little guys. They really threw open the bestiary for this one.

Oh no 😞 RIP American voice actor Tom Kane (1962-2026). He lent his voice to Imperial Captain Ozzik Sturn, Lobot and Kento Marek in The Force Unleashed (2008), Yoda and Admiral Yularen in The Clone Wars (2008), Admiral Ackbar in The Last Jedi (2017) and Star Tours. He worked on many SW games too.
