yeah, it'll run. I remember running it on my 486-80 and realizing it was time to upgrade.

Once you've told someone you'd rather design the board for a Pico project yourself, it's a little strange for them to come back with a PCB photo, tell you who's manufacturing it, and say they'll be in touch about firmware, "because you're likely to write code for it anyway."

A pretty big emulation milestone - The NEC V20/V30 CPU has now been emulated at the microcode level. #retrocomputing #emulation
a screenshot of the XTCE-Blue emulator running a NEC V20 CPU with microcode-level emulation. a DOS directory listing is shown, with a CPU status debug window on the right side showing register and flag state.

On the PCI bus this is a part of the contract for control signals like FRAME#/IRDY#/TRDY#/STOP#/DEVSEL#. After pulling them low, the target must drive them high for one clock before they float. The spec calls this sustained tri-state.

This is a long shot, but I'm looking for a TDS3EM Ethernet extension card for a Tektronix TDS3000(B) series oscilloscope like the one shown. I only need it for about a few hours. If anyone in the SF Bay Area has one and willing to loan it or to allow me do my thing at their place, let me know!

Replaced the right drive assembly in my Roborock Q5 Max+ vacuum. ~30 screws and it’s back at it. Was not expecting the grip on my wiha precision driver to give out.

if you hack your BIOS to do the shadowing, you'll get the rest of the speed back for BIOS calls - it makes the design more complicated to cache the video bios in SRAM so I might not keep it.

Updated build here - if you can re-test in checkit I'd appreciate it. with a system that does not shadow the video bios, writes that execute bios code won't be on par w/et4000 - but this should be a decent speedup. www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/1084b...

two things: 1) I disabled shadowing here, BIOS is .31x XT perf, vs 71x with shadowing enabled - thanks for catching this! 2) you'll have to swap the HCT125 for an ACT125 to get switching fast enough for 0WS (but you won't get it without a supporting chipset(AT+) and B8 wired for it - check that too)
