Towed my daughter’s new bike down to Seward Park so she can practice riding along Lake Washington Blvd without any cars. These weekends are so amazing for kids that are just learning to ride.

Rode the full length of the Centennial Trail today, from Snohomish to the Nakashima barn past Arlington. 60 miles round trip. Washington is beautiful.

So, I saw this pop up on the NW corner of Jackson and 25th Ave, which is an intersection of a busy neighborhood arterial and a healthy street. While I’m a big fan of bike parking and daylighting, the placement here makes it impossible to hit the crossing lights. Good intentions, bad execution?

I love this section of the Elliot Bay trail. Weird little tree lined path sandwiched between a trainyard and warehouses. Still not used to that jank narrow bridge being gone.

Had to come pay my respects to the weird Interbay rusty cage path before it got ripped up. Pretty sure this is what Soundgarden was singing about.

The ride from West Seattle to Pioneer Square at night is a vibe. Normally I’m on autopilot and not really perceiving it.

This route rules so much* when the homestretch is a car-free Lake Washington Blvd. (*except the bits by The Landing and along Rainier/Seward Park Ave, moar bike lanes please)

Took my daughter to Seattle’s new waterfront playground. Really nice climbing structures and that slide is legit. Also crowded as fuck (but that’s a good look for the waterfront).

Long line of cars stuck on 520 westbound. Seems pretty lame, and then I remembered they’re paying a toll to be stuck there. Ew.

Seattle bike hivemind: I was riding from South Park to Georgetown this weekend and didn't realize there was construction on Marginal. There used to be a bike lane here and I know a fancy new trail is eventually going to connect to the bridge but right now it's super dangerous. What's a good detour?

The Amazon Fresh by my house has decided to secure the Bluey and Baby Shark coloring books behind a locked cabinet and I for one will sleep easier knowing that history’s wealthiest corporation will never again have to foot the bill for an impoverished child experiencing a fleeting moment of joy.
