"Direct your dream game" says Unity Y'all game direction is many things but I can guarantee you that "genre + setting" is not game direction for anyone who has been a game director even just for 5 minutes Which should tell you enough about who made this, and whether you should trust them with this

I'd say replaying to you is the opposite of ignoring you. And I agree, SQ42 is long overdue, no one is contesting that. But Kickstarter dates are always approximations, not promises. Also the company at that time (this is public information) was fairly small to tackle two simultaneous projects.

Samuel Molina @fukuy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Not a very good analogy imho. The houses were already built and delivered. They keep working on them to make them bigger and better than initially planned. But if you are talking about SQ42 only, many similar games in scope had big development times and delays too. Nothing new in the industry.

You can say you don't trust them, sure. Or that many things said in the past changed and there are too many delays. Those are valid concerns and complains. But as a gamedev I can proudly say that many missions of mine were already released and players played and enjoyed them. That's not a scam.

Back in the day (2016 IIRC) it was announced that Squadron42 (the singleplayer campaign) would have more resources meaning the game would be bigger and better but it would be delayed (no release date at that time). Now they just announced Q2 2027 as a release date. A delayed game is not a scam.

I said 90% as a ballpark. I don't know the percentage tbh. Maybe is 100% or 80%. I didn't go through the list of all items but something that is not yet obtainable by playing doesn't mean it will not be in the future. That happens with big cruiser ships for example, to avoid unbalance scenarios.

If you only read the headlines you're missing the whole story. As an OG backer I can tell you that the promised scoped back then was way smaller than what is already available today. And a crowdfunded company with no publishers or investors have delays and detours, you already know that.

That's usually what people who don't know anything about the project repeats because they heard that before from someone else who also don't know anything about the project. Allow me to properly inform you:
- Star Citizen is a premium game.
Only one $54.45 payment is required. No subscriptions, battle pass nor gacha mechanics.
90% of extra paid content (ships, skins, weapons, etc.) can be unlocked just by playing the game.

- Star Citizen is not a promise. Is real. Despite being currently an alpha the game already has more playable content than many other finished games and the game is doing things that technically not other game is capable of.

- Star Citizen keeps geeting updates monthly for free making it bigger and better every patch. Despite the game being playable for years now the number of people playing is increasing and the number of hours they spent in the game is increasing aswell.

- If anyone still thinks is not worthy or that it can be a scam, Star Citizen usually has FREE PLAY events every 4 months or so. For a week anyone can play the game for free and see for themselves.

- The communication towards the community is quite open. The company constantly publish newsletters and videos telling and showcasing what we are working on.

- The company financials are public. In a period of time where the game industry is on shambles the company keeps hiring, reinvesting in the game and maintaining independence.

Not true. We already release new content, improvements and fixes on a monthly basis. Suggesting the game can't be ever released is a contradiction considering the game (alpha version) is already released and playable. Also, the article is about Squadron 42 not Star Citizen. Two different products.

This is set up for laughs, but it’s actually one of the best demonstrations I’ve seen of how being capable of producing convincing sounding language and understanding meaning are two completely different things. A chatbot does not understand you, it just has automated responses based on your words.

Samuel Molina @fukuy.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

This message made my day <3
Hi FuKuy,

about a month ago, I posted about my game on Reddit, and I have to say that you gave me the best breakdown of what wasnt working with my page/trailer, without coming down as hard or dismissive. You gave an old fashioned game critique that really spoke to me about what was lacking in my game. Since then, I have been working on the game and updating the Steam page with new screenshots and a new trailer. But I wanted to take a moment and say thanks!

Number one mistake in my opinion from many indie game demos I've been playing so far is the amount of lore dumping and dialog just at the start. Let me move around and discover things by myself before locking me down just reading... let me care for the world and people before explaining it!
