The final story, closing Frost Zone Stories book 4 is an immersive and atmospheric tale of old ghosts in NYC; the kind of story that sticks with you just like the ghosts that stick to the Big Apple. "The Bar That Remembered" by @lawrencedagstine.com www.frostzonestories.com/p/issuesbook...
Vertical banner with orange border. Text: Lawrence Dagstine The Bar That Remembered They said the Forty-Deuce Bar was built on a sinkhole of bad dreams. You couldn't tell by looking at it. It was just another dim joint holding up a corner on 8th and 41st, a bar that smelled like beer-soaked plywood and cheap cigarette smoke. But sometimes, when the neon from across the street flickered wrong, the floor seemed to breathe. The penultimate story in the table of contents for Frost Zone Stories book 4 is "Shade of Unremembered Trees" by Kimberly Y. Choi. This tale is a scary reminder to keep Ai out of the arts! Final story spotlight coming on Friday; the official release day. www.frostzonestories.com/p/issuesbook...
Vertical banner with orange border. Text: Kimberly Y. Choi Shade of Unremembered Trees Although art gives a peek into a person's mind, we can't really know the person behind the art from their works alone. I just like knowing they're there, that when I listen to music, someone's on the other end, trying to communicate.

The seventh story in Frost Zone Stories book 4 is "Life, Crystalline" by Elizabeth Guilt, a tale of icy and surreal events experienced by the main character following a recent break-up. Just over a week until the official release date, Aug28th: www.frostzonestories.com/p/issuesbook...
Vertical banner with orange border. Text: Elizabeth Guilt Life, Crystalline I stuffed my hands into my pockets and stared at the ground as I hurried along... There was a deep puddle at the end of my road. It had been there forever, growing or shrinking with the weather, but never truly drying out. The sixth tale in Frost Zone Stories book 4 is "The Last Will" by Christian Macklam , in which we meet Trina who is tasked with clearing out the pharmacy business of her recently departed aunt. She stumbles upon an unusual, hand-written will. www.frostzonestories.com/p/issuesbook...
Vertical banner with orange border. Text: Christian Macklam The Last Will The shop's basement was packed with neglected supplies, so much so that we had started using the block's shared subbasement, which predated the stores above. On this particular evening, my flashlight sat on the stairs leading down to the subbasement, while I attempted to move a box of ancient medical journals. Frost Zone Stories book 4 will soon be here...the 5th story is "August and the Smell of Cumin" by James Hobbs. All are concerned when something suddenly appears, and lingers, in the sky. Something massive, translucent, and unexplainable. www.frostzonestories.com/p/issuesbook...
Vertical banner with orange border. Text: James Hobbs August and the Smell of Cumin The Jelly's easy to spot, even from this distance, since it's at least thirty feet across. But it doesn't cast a shadow. The whole thing's clear like a candy wrapper so light shining through it leaves a kind of pinkish smear of color across the highway and the lake and the tops of the trees, a smear that moves as the sun crosses the sky. To be clear: we despise Ai more every day. It should've never been anywhere near the arts. It is a thief: steals work from legitimate artists & writers, steals sub readers' & editors' time, and if the work slips through-steals a spot from a legitimate creator. We do our best to spot the scam subs.

Is it a good day for pie? Maybe not at this café, inside this mall... from "Her Smile" by @camdenscorner.bsky.social Camden Rose in book 2 of Frost Zone Stories. books2read.com/u/3JMW5A
photo of Frost Zone Stories book 2 opened to the story "Her Smile" by Camden Rose: pencil sketch on left shows an over-sized slice of pie on plate with a fork, a small mug of steaming coffee, on table below display window which has the backwards word café, and through which can be seen an upside-down escalator with 2 figures descending...or ascending? Right side: a glimpse of the first page of the story.

<very awkward self-promotion> If you're a CSFFA member & looking at nominations for the #AuroraAwards, my story "The Fish of Cart Lake" (published in Ghost to Ghost to Ghost: An Anthology of Haunting Tales from Canada) is eligible for Best Short Story. It's northern Ontario climate horror :-)
