So much fun! Working with The European Renal Association who come to Glasgow June. They are committed to sustainability & the local community & have worked with us & a local school. In April, the school come to visit, work in our gardens & be the first to follow Basil & Beetrice #TheRoyalBeeTrail

We are 231! Wonderful things have happened inside our walls. Things which have shaped healthcare throughout the world. We gave the world antisepsis, nurse training & more. Today, pioneering work continues & inside there is a sense of team, of community & of pride, even when times are tough.

'Tis the season! “One Night Cough Syrup” from the 1930s, which contained cannabis, morphine, chloroform, and alcohol! In 1934, the FDA ruled that the claims of the cough syrup's therapeutic properties were misleading, and remaining stock was destroyed. #skystorians #medhist #science 🧪

Did you hear? 🤔 Scotland have qualified for The World Cup. Bet these guys would have been proud. The plastic surgery unit's football team 1968, an unknown team but they have a trophy so must have been good & the staff football team from 1936. Well done Scotland, we will be rooting for you.

The inspiring Rebecca Strong our first matron who invented the block training method for nurse training which is now used worldwide, received this telegram from King George on her 100th birthday 'Tireless pioneering' It really was. A true legend. Visit us or follow along on here to find out more

The original visitors book from Rottenrow. Lots of famous signatures in here inc this one - Ernest Hemingway's father - Clarence Edmonds Hemingway. 'Ed' was a GP with an interest in obstetrics who invented spinal forceps. The book will be on display during our Rottenrow exhibtion, opening 2026.

Have you visited our current exhibition? A brief history of dialysis alongside an art exhibition created by patients during dialysis sessions. Only 70 years ago chronic kidney disease was a death sentence. Progress is amazing...let's keep it coming.

🎻 Concert next Friday 21st Nov. at 1pm. An opportunity not to be missed. We are thrilled to host the supremely talented Alistair McCulloch & Aaron Jones. Alistair is is licensed to play The Gregg Fiddle, a national treasure 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 It was played in 1779 with Robert Burns when he attended dance classes.

Well we have a lot to update you on but we will start off with this...the bee trail and our garden extension and glow up is well and truly under way.....bulb planting yesterday 😃 with the help of Craig from The Conservation Volunteers and the Trades House, Glasgow who also supplied the bulbs!
