Happy Pride to this Caravaggio self-portrait that made one man so gay he had to go to the hospital

Caravaggio's Baccus painting, featuring a lush fruity spread and leaves bedecking a pasty twink who only works out his arms

Article screenshot that says:

The most extreme examples of
Stendhal syndrome share a sensation of
self-fragmentation. Magherini
describes the case of a 53-year-old
German man who was hospitalized
after repeatedly viewing Caravaggio's
Bacchus at Uffizi Gallery. The patient
felt "an attraction closer and closer to
an intimate sexual arousal of
ambiguous nature that invaded him
and made him feel good and bad."
Unmoored and distressed, he sought
medical attention. After treating the
subject's initial episode, Magherini
writes that he came to recognize his
latent homosexuality. Another case...

The problem with being a fan of classic literature is that you end up knowing so many fantastic words that basically never come up in everyday conversation. Do you have any idea how rare it is to get the chance to drop an "illimitable"?

My late father would have loved Blue Sky because of all the photos of the birds posted here. After he retired he became a bird watcher. And then he began collecting small figurines of birds. His collection is the nicest remembrance I have of him.

5 years of progress ✨ QRP with yours! I'm pretty happy that I managed to make my digital watercolours really believable over these last few years.

Maedhros (from the Silmarillion), painted in Procreate with the standard brushes in early 2021. (Using a picture from 2019 would not have shown much progress, as in 2019, I had two near-intact eyes to help me which art, which I no longer have, so the progress needs to be measured by other means.)

Lady Amalthea from The Last Unicorn, painted this year with one of my watercolour brush sets, also in Procreate. This set was made specifically to achieve realistic washes as well as crisp lines.
