Belatedly reading about how this all went down last time. The author is a gay man who was fortunately sent out of Germany before the Nazis could get him. He cites lots of sources that will be useful for further reading. Bring your notepad for this one. History has been repeating itself for a while.

So the Factorio update did suck me in for over 200 hours. I’ve been stressedly hyperfixated on it for weeks now. I had about 400 hours at the start of this, and recently I hit a fun milestone

Nearly forgot #Caturday. Here’s a picture my wife took of her cat. In defiance of stereotypes, the black cat chose a sci-fi shelf instead of horror (mostly because she couldn’t reach the horror shelf). We are very proud of her regardless.

Got this today, so that was nice. Beautiful book. I miss the little illustrations at the start of each lesson, and I’m not sure how I feel about the type, but the book feels solid and ready for me to thumb through for years to come.

(Re: the reference: The Larch!) And I hope this baby changing station I encountered in Toronto will give you a chuckle. It was in a nerd restaurant with a 40k themed restroom.

I’ve now found a way to make this Raspberry Pi a single-app device that boots directly into a simple word processor called Wordgrinder. I also enlarged the font for the tiny screen. I’ll actually have to start writing stuff now.

There were hurdles, but I’ve got a working word processor thanks to my wife’s patience and a lot of failed attempts. Now I can start thinking about upgrades! The first being: make it run ONLY a word processor.

I did some more #TinyGlade doodling. What a great little game/tool. It's super relaxing and it scratches the itch of creating something. I could go on and on about it. Here's what I did for a recent prompt called "Two Neighbors", to which I'll add "and the Well-Worn Path Between Them".

Someone still tends the lamps that light the path, probably a duty taken on by whichever neighbor happens to be going past them at night.

Progress on my first mechanical keyboard project! My wife 3D printed a keypad case. I’ve sanded it a bit but I’ll be doing more. We got some Cherry MX blue switches in it today. Don’t have the keycaps yet, so I stuck on the caps from a switch tester to get a feel and a sound test. This is exciting!

(Posting again bc I forgot alt text) I didn't expect that my favorite thing to do in Project Zomboid would be to rearrange the messily stacked boxes in warehouses. Feels like I'm at the mercy of a writer who decides that this is the best way to demonstrate that I'm neurodivergent.
