I've had to unfriend a few fans lately, all for the same reason. They made ridiculing, unkind, and in some cases outright cruel comments about pictures I posted of young women cosplaying Jessica.
More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. There is no such thing as a Jessica cosplayer being too short, too flat chested, too heavy, too thin, too unattractive, too black, too Asian, or even too male!!! All Jessica, any Jessica, every Jessica is good Jessica.
I'm not giving any warnings or second chances. A single disparaging comment on a Jessica cosplayer, and I'm throwing you out of the rainbow colored Toontown Tent.

If anyone is getting smacked with this - just use deer.social or another alternate client. Bsky is just an AT Protocol Client, and your Bsky account is an AT Protocol account - you can use your same Bsky account thru another AT Protocol Client, no migration or loss necessary. Could not be easier.

this is actually a good reminder that you should delete the tracking nonsense off of any url that you share online. just delete everything after the ? (including the question mark) and share like you usually would

a screenshot of a youtube url showing the actual url as everything before the ? and everything after as “tracking nonsense”

PSA: Bluesky's new auto-tagging moderation stuff is a disaster. Disable it. Go into Settings on the Bluesky site and enable adult content and set everything to Warn at most, which makes posts opt-in. Hide just vanishes posts. Then go into Advanced/Bluesky Mod Service and do the same on everything.

Some Mermay art from this year. Vivi and Flora.

A painting of a mermaid jumping out of the water.

A painting of a mermaid sitting on a cliff. The water arond her seems red and sharp cliffs are sticking out of the water all around her, some of which she is summoning herself.

I can't believe we're going back to this kind of discourse but: Using references isn't cheating Using 3D mannequins and photo references is STANDARD, even for professional artists Shaming people and pushing them to draw exclusively from memory is harmful and can set back people who are learning

If I remember correctly, you can switch those minigames to auto. With the downside to not get a perfect score. Though, I might be confusing it with another game cause I couldn't find anything about it online(just a quick search, but still). 😅 Did you check the game's settings? :)

I stopped posting there cause I didn't have the energy to build a community there. But I think it might be one of the safest places to post since it has been around for so long. ☺️ As for the question: I don't read there (yet)

120

Freiha ~ Arindia no Densetsu @freiha.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

Still, I love seeing other people's work and enjoy the little communities I am part of. Maybe that can be something you could focus on as well. :) I have no advice for the "reality got too crazy" part, tho. 😥 3/3

Freiha ~ Arindia no Densetsu @freiha.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

As for the controversies: I stopped posting art and if, I am heavily watermarking and glazing everything. Even on Discord, even if it's posted in a DM. It's annoying so I am rarely posting. 😅 2/3

Freiha ~ Arindia no Densetsu @freiha.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

All of this makes sense. As for the Social Media marketing stuff: I just stopped doing that. I don't enjoy it, ir dragged me down, it made my comic something that had to perform - I just want to write and draw. So I am just focusing on that. I have a small readership and I am content with that. 1/x

It's a good way to cope. Life isn't easy and many people need an escape in some form. Dumping all of that on OCs doesn't hurt anybody so it's a healthy way to cope. Any form of art is, imo. I feel the same as you. My OCs have carried me through the darkest times of my life. 🫂

This is exactly why language matters: “women were given the vote” frames equality as a gift from men, instead of hard won political power extracted through organized resistance. Nobody gave women anything. Women fought, marched, strategized, endured violence, went to prison and died for it.

lol what?! I think it's anything but silly! It shows you can stick to a thing over a longer period of time. That's a positive trait! Especially in a world that is as fast-paced as ours.
