When I was a kid, reading was comforting because I didn't understand other kids, and I wanted to dream myself into another world where I fit in. Books made me feel like someone else groked. I love that they're still doing that in my late 40s, that fictional characters still make me feel less alone.

Maybe I am able to learn new things. Today, when someone mentioned „Frankenstein“ instead of going straight ahead to buying it I actually first looked if I already have it as an ebook. And yes, I own it. Twice. Did I ever read it? Nope.

Halp! I'm doing that thing again where I can't do anything (but scroll through social media and such) because I have a thing at 12.30. I mean, I really need to mend the pair of jeans I want to wear and do the breakfast dishes and also, doing something productive would have been nice, but no.

So I‘m having one of those days where time ceases to exist and all I get done is staring blankly into space. Also, I will have to start teaching early and do all the email and admin. Meanwhile my husband asks me to hold the ladder for him so he can clean the gutters (okay).
