I'm studying biotech and every time someone brings up mushrooms our current professeor will look either extremely excited or pained and go, "listen, mushrooms are neither plants nor animals nor something inbetween. We do not know what they are. Some are immortal. Some produce life-saving substances some are so closely related to humans that eating them may cause an allergic reaction against your own body. I cannot teach you about the mushrooms.

I find it infuriating that nations who for decades have profited off the exploitation of immigrant labour, who have indeed engineered the conditions for that exploitation through making the countries of origin nigh unliveable, now dare to turn around and call migrants a drain. "The right to protest is fundamental to our democracy". As long as the protest is not about Palestine, climate or any other issue that major lobbyists want to shut down. If you're protesting about asylum seekers, on the other hand, your concerns are legitimate, and we're making policy in response.
