When I'm traveling, I play point-and-clicks or puzzle games that run on my tablet and work with its trackpad. This time, it was TR-49. A puzzle game by the great Inkle studio, where you read entries in an Enigma style machine where each entry corresponds to a code and gives you hints on other codes🧵

A screenshot of TR49, displaying the first screen you see in the game, with the code TR49.

A screenshot of TR-49 with the code CC-49. Some text is visible on screen, pointing to other codes.

A screenshot of TR-49 showing the notes you manipulate. Here the notes about CC49, corresponding to an unknown person.

Gmail has this very interesting feature that if you mention somebody by address in the body of your mail, they will be silently added to the receiver list. Which is moderately convenient in 70% of cases and incredibly bad in the remaining 30%. Got reminded of that by receiving one of the latter...

Just finished "Offshore Lightning" ("Au tomber du soleil" in French) by Nazuna Saitō. A collection of short stories by this woman I had sadly never heard about, who started drawing manga in her forties and didn't publish a lot, but was incredibly talented 🧵

The cover of the French version of the book, titled "Au tomber du soleil". Two old persons are sitting on a bench, looking at the setting sun.

A page of the manga. A beautiful and ethereal woman talks to a young boy who's flustered.

A page of the book where an old woman is suffering in her hospital bed and thinking that a beatle is in her mouth and devouring her

A page of the book where an old woman feeds a start cat and talks to an old man.

I took my bike for the first time since the beginning of the heat wave and it's frightening how cars are driving completely erratically. As I was thinking about how dangerous it was, a car almost rolled me over on a protected crossing.

I hate that it is a relevant PSA, but if you are in a room that is over 35°C, you should switch your fans off. Instead of refreshing you, they start dehydrating you and warming you.

My polite and effective way of saying this is this screenshot and a heavy handed but gentle stare at…quite a few of you.

post from tumblr:
I need a polite and effective way to say "hey your heart is truly in the right place and your anger is often righteous but I think sometimes you're getting recreationally mad about things that are frankly not worth the amount of energy you're spending on them, and every time you do this you're driving yourself slightly more insane with nothing to show for it," and then I need a way to broadcast that message through a loudspeaker to roughly 30,000 people at once, and THEN I need a time machine to send that message to my past self lol. and maybe a second time machine in case past me tries to be clever and sabotage the version of me who comes through the first Time Machine

Started my day by forgetting to put a filter and dropping my coffee directly through the dripper. I'm sure that's going to be a very productive day...

A V60 coffee setup, except there is no filter, so the ground coffee has fallen directly to the bottom, where clear coffee is supposed to be.

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy (2017)

A painted wooden statue of Saint Guy inside a cauldron on fire, looking very chill given his situation. He looks a bit like the main character of the video game Getting over it who is stuck in a cauldron too.
