Notre-Dame reopens to the public this weekend. The achievement thus far is astonishing and historic, our architecture writes. Here’s an inside look at the rebuilding effort of the cathedral since the 2019 fire. nyti.ms/4ilgX4r

The ‘acoustic mirror’ (Guy Rosolato) is where the maternal voice forms a bridge between body and language, self and Other. It’s not just sound—it’s a first home for identity, holding us before words do. #psychoanalysis
This is René Magritte’s “The Voice of Space” (La Voix des Airs). Its surrealist floating spheres evoke the abstract and unseen qualities of sound and voice. Here’s a tweet inspired by this artwork and the acoustic mirror:

“In Magritte’s The Voice of Space, sound becomes form—unseen yet present, floating between worlds. Like Rosolato’s ‘acoustic mirror,’ the maternal voice bridges the intangible, shaping identity through echoes we can feel but never hold.

The moment you can challenge the hegemony of a social network, you gain freedom.

A self-portrait is a trace, a reflection of a moment. But on social networks, it often becomes an empty surface, where the lived moment is erased, because the photo is taken only to be published. These photos are no longer a memory, they exist to be forgotten.

My one constructive criticism on BlueSky, as a community: we need to “like” less and “retweet” more. In the absence of an algorithm, that’s the way we find each other and reward good content.

An acerbic critique of contemporary society, particularly American society: of beauty reduced to a commodity, of visceral fear and hatred in the face of the loss of one's own youth... A masterful portrayal by Demi Moore and a particularly effective direction by Coralie Fargeat.

When I'm on my smartphone, I'm also in my head. This extension of the psyche creates a paradoxical intimacy where what is intimate becomes partly external to oneself, while being dynamically experienced as internal #cyberpsychology

Our ego extends to technologies. More precisely, our psychic surface extends to technology, which becomes that surface itself. This is why, when we interact with machines, we are also inside our ego. This is why entering a telephone is experienced as an invasion of intimacy #cyberpsychology

When we are connected to a technology, not only does our psyche expand, but our psychic processes are transformed in return. The acceleration of our existence can be seen metaphorically as the consequence of an increased connection to the machine #cyberpsychology

Artificial intelligence is an extension of the self. However, the parts of oneself thus extended depend on the person interacting with it. For some people, for example, it serves as a cognitive prosthesis, i.e. both as an extension of brain functions and as their replacement or assistance.

Identity is not a fixed thing. It is constantly recomposed and multiple. Increasingly, it is freed from the body to make way for other forms of subjective expression.

Democracy means accepting that some people are "anti-vax" or anti-psychoanalysis, for example, and listening to them and treating them with respect. This does not mean, however, that scientists should be equally tolerant.

La démocratie, c’est accepter que certaines personnes soient "anti-vax" ou anti-psychanalyse par exemple, les écouter et les traiter avec respect. Cela ne signifie pas pour autant que les scientifiques doivent faire preuve de la même tolérance.
