Taux d’inoccupation des logements | 2028, point de bascule du marché locatif ?
La grande région de Montréal se dirigerait rapidement vers des hausses de loyers inférieures à l’inflation. Selon la Société canadienne d’hypothèques et de logement (SCHL), le marché du logement vivra en 2028 une situation exceptionnelle, qui ne s’est pas vue depuis 30 ans, aux débuts de la popularité de l’internet. Le taux d’inoccupation des logements sera alors de 4,8 % dans la grande région de Montréal, bien au-dessus du « point d’équilibre » de 3 %.

Depuis près d'un an, l'entreprise Marinvest Energy et le fédéral travaillent en coulisses sur un mégaprojet d'exportation de gaz semblable à GNL Québec, refusé après un vif débat public. Le dossier a fait l'objet de nombreuses démarches et rencontres, mais officiellement, il n'existe pas encore.

To add some perspective to the free bus debate, these are the opex per pessamger trip of different modes in the Greater Montréal area from an STM presentation. The metro has by far the lowest unit opex, while buses can be up to 10x more expensive in the case of suburban ones (Exo bus)
