Something shifted in the last weeks. I think they're getting it now. Trump is extremely tanking the polls. People are realising it, I believe. Which makes him and all around him desperate and this bullshit declaration is an example of this.

Certainly, yes. But you still have that ghost of white supremacy that's rooted so deep in people's heads. How can you get rid of that? Here in Germany, we thought we were rather thorough in extinguishing that shit but lo and behold, it's becoming trendy again here as well. It's like a cancer.

I really wonder how to actually remedy this situation. Realistically. This administration probably won't survive its term. They can't keep this up, they're way too messy. But what happens after? How do you even start to fix this? You can't just exile all of his supporters.

That's exactly the thing that i as a german never understood and was constantly unnerved by: Not taking full responsibility for their actions. Slavery, genocide of the indigenous folks, Hiroshima, you name it. It's low-key treated like some natural catastrophe nobody's really to blame for.
