Louis chokes on a tapioca ball. Lily claps him on the back.

"You know, what with the clots and bits of tissue," Lily continues. "Nature's boba."

"Um," Louis says, alarmed. "What."

Lily looks up at him and, upon seeing his face, rolls her eyes playfully.

"Oh, you're that kind of gay man," she says. "It's okay, Louis. Periods aren't real, they can't hurt you."
