it’s George Lucas, what do you really expect him to do with that information

Later that night, Lucas learned that the limousines in front of Grauman's belonged to Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner and his entourage, all of whom ended up watching the film two times in a row. But none of this prevented him from continuing with the job on hand.

reposting this now that we're a few days out--the version I grabbed happened to crop out the bottom one but there's no obvious candidate down there anyway

I overlaid the image of the Seven Havens on a map of the ATLA world and added my best guesses as to their locations

also this scale doesn't really allow both water tribes to be anywhere near the poles

obviously it's tough because it's a globe but I'm not so sure about those picks--either you lose Agna Qel'a and the Eastern Temple or you lose Ba Sing Se, Omashu, and whatever the southern one is

M. Dean Cooper @fractalchurn.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

how do we know which one is Ellora? I was kinda thinking Omashu

M. Dean Cooper @fractalchurn.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

didn’t pin the one to the Eastern Temple tho 🤔

Lots of talk about Korra re: the #SevenHavens status quo but my main initial reaction was how much Aang would fucking hate this. Not just the devastation, but the militarization of airbending and seemingly zero retention of nomad culture. Just as well those past lives aren't hanging around anymore.

If I built an AI lab and it went rogue and deleted all student loan information, I'm betting they'd suddenly figure out how to prosecute me.

confirmed: John Williams has no idea what he’s doing

Sunset: "George asked for Ben's theme there once he had heard it. I had originally scored that scene with Luke's theme, but when he heard the other, he said, 'Could you put Ben's theme in there?' He liked it for some reason or other better for that scene. It is difficult to explain why.
It is contemplative and reflective, and it works really very well. I think I have to say in the end he was very right."

at this point no matter how good the polling is I assume the real margins will be like 1/3 as good
