😁 perhaps not - but I have seen him pluck them straight off the branch, especially earlier in the year (these photos were July 31st) when the tree was so laden with fruit the branches were hanging down to the ground.

Two photos of the apple tree earlier this year (these were July 31st) - so much fruit that it was weighing the branches lower than we've ever seen, right down to the grass.

That's a wonderful article Jeremy. We actually walked down from Green Park tube to the Mall only yesterday, but I also worked (& walked) around those same streets for many years, firstly with the NAO (incl. at the QE11 Centre, Marlborough House & Queen Anne's Gate), and then with WCC on Victoria St.

Wandered past this shop yesterday. For a brief second I thought one of these dressing gowns would be just the thing to accompany into my later years, but that brief second ended when I saw the prices. Hey ho.

Exotically patterned (in silver and black, gold and black, and black and gold) dressing gowns on mannequins in the window display of New and Lingwood. One of those would set you back over £4,000.

The Piccadilly Arcade, off Piccadilly, London. An indoor passage with small, boutique, and generally extremely expensive shops. Pretty glass cupola roof.

When I lived in St Albans we used to walk there often. Very pretty (before the golf courses) & The Crooked Chimney used to be a decent pub too. I remember Lord Brocket drowning his car collection (Ferraris etc) in the lake to claim on the insurance money. It didn't go well...

There's a theory that cats mainly catch stuff just to demonstrate how useless their humans are at controlling wildlife. Afaik Molly's only caught 5 rodents and one bird in three years with us so I don't think she's a serial killer like some.

Molly the Ginger Cat caught and (mostly 😬) ate a vole/mouse earlier so she was in the very bad books for a while. But we can't blame a cat for doing what comes naturally, not for too long, and we're best mates again now
