That there over there be Scotland (from England - Bowness on Solway, the western end of Hadrian's Wall).
A view across the Solway Firth, looking north.
Dark blue water and a blue sky with little white fluffy clouds. An explanatory map regarding the Roman fort and Hadrian's Wall etc.Another view across the firth, framed by an arched wooden shelter.A stamp for the start of the Hadrian's Wall walk (which I'm not doing).

I fell in love with it in about 1973 & various versions of me have loved a few versions of it ever since, but that new roof is something else. The way that they managed to keep the station operational throughout the changes was truly astonishing.

😁 perhaps not - but I have seen him pluck them straight off the branch, especially earlier in the year (these photos were July 31st) when the tree was so laden with fruit the branches were hanging down to the ground.
Two photos of the apple tree earlier this year (these were July 31st) - so much fruit that it was weighing the branches lower than we've ever seen, right down to the grass.

Wandered past this shop yesterday. For a brief second I thought one of these dressing gowns would be just the thing to accompany into my later years, but that brief second ended when I saw the prices. Hey ho.
Exotically patterned (in silver and black, gold and black, and black and gold) dressing gowns on mannequins in the window display of New and Lingwood. One of those would set you back over £4,000.The Piccadilly Arcade, off Piccadilly, London. An indoor passage with small, boutique, and generally extremely expensive shops. Pretty glass cupola roof.

We is doing culture. It still amazes me that we can walk straight off the street, no queues and no payment, and see such treasures.

When I lived in St Albans we used to walk there often. Very pretty (before the golf courses) & The Crooked Chimney used to be a decent pub too. I remember Lord Brocket drowning his car collection (Ferraris etc) in the lake to claim on the insurance money. It didn't go well...

Molly the Ginger Cat caught and (mostly 😬) ate a vole/mouse earlier so she was in the very bad books for a while. But we can't blame a cat for doing what comes naturally, not for too long, and we're best mates again now

It was a nice sunny day so not too much of a hardship. Anyway, all has been forgiven and forgotten now..

Molly caught a vole earlier so she's been made to stay outside for a while to reflect on how to be a better, nicer cat. We are currently negotiating her return indoors.

Unexpected item in the Carcassone game area. As for Molly, the drugs do work - she's moving nearly normally, although slightly gingerly. But thereagain, everything she ever does is gingery... *gets coat*

Today happens to be Mrs Rox's and my wedding anniversary*, but all I've done since 9.00am is sit up the end of the garden next to Molly who has decided that the best cure for her injuries is to curl up in the herb patch. Anyway, she's booked in for the vet at 4.00pm. *22nd, since you asked, ta.

Three years ago, at about this hour, our previously relatively quiet & stress-free lives took a rather wonderful new turn as a small furry, ginger person called Molly arrived home for the first time & rather nervously surveyed her new surroundings. Nothing has ever been quite the same since ...🐈

It went down a treat this evening (I love the crisped up mash on top) - this morning was warm and sunny and dry enough for me to mow the lawn, but since then it's been mostly horrible, wet and windy.

Cheese is generally not great for cats in any sizeable quantity. Cats do not know this & Molly particularly can smell within seconds when a decent cheese (e.g. Sparkenhoe Red Leicester) has entered the room. She gets the tiniest morsel & that seems to keep her happy enough.
Molly the Ginger Cat immediately aware that good cheese is nearby.

Very hit and miss with the weather - I was on the way back from Nottingham and stopped at my favourite stopping place. 5 mins after later the sun was fully out again - I love these views.
View across rolling ploughed fields towards copses of trees. There is low white cloud and blue skies at the top.A slightly different across browny yellow ploughed fields. The further field is green and on the horizon the top of a church spire is visible.

We stayed there in 2022 - had the flat along the whole length of the back at the bottom, overlooking the lawn and out to sea. It was a magical week, and there was the most incredible sunset I've ever seen...
