It‘s not dissimilar to a number of other willful refusals, unfortunately.

I miss the days when psychiatrists would send one away for repair. To the seaside, preferably. Oh, wait. Are we AT the seaside? FUCK.

NOT EVEN CENTIMETRES?! BUT YOU LIVED IN QUEBEC!

That’s a weird diagnosis. I’d ask for a second opinion.

000

Weird. The Winnipeg airport is my favourite. By far.

It may -possibly- be your habit of thinking deeply & carefully about things and then speaking those well-considered thoughts out loud? I mean, these musings do tend to stand in stark juxtaposition with the status quo. STOP THINKING AND RESUME CONSUMING. YOU‘RE SLOWING US DOWN.

000

Consider the alternative: becoming Bryan Johnson. Eep.

000

And now, it’s time for some Joy Division.

As a not-very-recovered goth, I will point out that the noticing is the only difference - the process has been happening all along.

But have you tried screaming about it in German, while bashing found objects?

You should try deliberately looking weird every day. I’ve been doing it since the ‘80s. I’m invincible now.

I was going to joke “new fetish just dropped” but it probably already exists and…well, I’m not googling this at work.

Hulk Hogan and David Lee Roth? Were they in love? That would Explain a lot.

I found this in storage

A vintage lamp depicting a ceramic yellow cockatiel with a vaguely menacing air sits on a buffet in front of a tray of glasses

It’s important to keep your relationship fresh, so that’s why I chose the second anniversary of being asked on a date to text my beloved: I quite possibly should have asked this earlier in the relationship but what’s your stance on ominous lamps?

I‘m heartsick. For all of you, and for the students as well. This seems a profoundly ill-considered decision.

This is a big project I've been working on with my colleagues at the Canadian Shield Institute for the past few months. If you care about Canadian digital policy, I think this is a really important contribution to the conversation. Check it out!

from carrying the light of human consciousness to the stars to recognizing it in software, its cool how the fate of "consciousness" hinges on flattering the grandiose ambitions, psychosexual fixations, and proprietary claims of insufferably warped narcissistic assholes

Really enjoy how people now seem to think a person delivering a decent speech is somehow the equivalent of adequate political action. Maybe someone could do a lovely dance routine and save the f&$%*^g planet.

Yes. We have become addicted, as a society, to comforting lies because accepting any sort of truth would mean accountability. Watching society become more and more detached from evidence-based decision making is both shocking and saddening.

The reward is for investors, not for Nova Scotians. We shifted extractive (neo)colonialism abroad for a bit but, like the undead in a horror film, it’s baaaack. And now, it’s our turn.
