One thing I miss about working in the tabletop industry is getting to go to UKGE freely, it was such hard work and stressful to capture everything happening on the weekend but it was fascinating to see so many cool hobbies on display in one place.

Tonight my son and I played CorasQuest (dungeon for kids) unfortunately it's quite combat orientated. I always attempt to get him to complete challenges on enemies that aren't combat specific. Tonight we had; lost dinner, consoling a sad goblin and prepping a shopping list for ratfolk. #ttrpg

Yes, this is unique. I saw once at UKGE was a chess game that involved joining the pieces together in a dance rather than combat. It was a great spin on the classic.

I don't think every game can boast a unique combat system based on cards or dice, my feed is flooded with it. Unless you have to clear a drainpipe with a spoon within a time limit and being chased by chinchillas, it's not gonna be unique to me.

Not an rpg but have you considered micro macro, it’s a detective game where you’re given clues on cards and you have to navigate through a huge illustrated map to solve the cases. They can get pretty challenging too.

I also try to be aware of visually impaired, make sure the font is readable, sizing is correct and colours don’t fade against each other. It’s boring work but must be checked.

Today I’ll be printing samples of my #smallfolkttrpg to see how it looks visually printed but also to adapt any colour for cmyk printing. This is a very important step that a lot of artists miss. When printing, we often have to brighten images up a lot to reflect how it looks on screen.

I understand that some people love the crunch but for me and my games I rarely track anything, even hit points. I highly encourage storytelling with my players, when it comes to maths gaming I feel like it becomes stunted and manipulative to forge numbers. I do give limits though.
