Walmart’s holiday toy catalog has no Xbox anything in it.
The only spread in the 2026 Walmart toy catalog with video games in it. The left page is all Nintendo Switch 2, and the right page is divided into four sections: Nex Playground, PS5, Meta Quest, and a chair. No prices are listed for anything.

Vintage John Calhoun! Calhoun, author of Glider 4.0 (Macworld Game Hall

Pararena 2.0 is steeped in Calhoun's tradition of attention to detail, from the unique sounds (the players' armor clinking, the roar of the crowd, stadium vendors hawking peanuts) to the physics of the hoverboards gliding over the stadium dish. Still, the greatest of the Calhoun tradition, is ENDLESS FUN!

Can’t browse an issue of Comic Shop News without being utterly flummoxed by something. Paragraphs about a new MaryJane book, but no mention of what it’s called or when it’s out. And no pay off on the famous quote either.
There is a sentence in comics history that has been quoted, parodied and celebrated for nearly sixty years, and it belongs entirely to one character. When Mary Jane Watson finally stepped out from behind that famous flower bouquet in Amazing Spider-Man #42, she didn't just make an entrance, she rewrote what a supporting character could mean. She's been Peter Parker's great love, his wife, his almost-wife (thanks, Me-phisto), his anchor and his heartbreak ever since.
Marvel is giving her a solo special she's arguably deserved for decades.
This issue puts Mary Jane front and center, not as a supporting player orbiting Peter's drama, but as the lead in her own story with her own stakes.
The title itself is a wink at that legendary first line, and the book leans fully into MJ's full history without being weighed down by it.
and we're so glad to see his name on a current comic.
The entire creative team treats MJ as the fully-formed, fiercely independent character she has always been at her best, the actress, the survivor, the

under pressure. His long history with the Spider-Man corner of the Marvel universe means he understands exactly what makes Mary Jane tick,
If you've ever felt like MJ deserved mor than a subplot, this is the book you've been waiting for. Pick it up.

Vacation week almost over. Soon I’ll be back to playing games at home. :( #boardgames
Storybook Saga: a solo dice battle game that was really eager to misunderstand how public domain works. This was actually my first ever win (over about ten games.) Wendy did most of the work damaging the Queen of Hearts, but Popeye swung in for the final blow.Pulp Romance, a solo tableau builder that uses lovely old artwork. This ended up a 64 point game, which indicates that the debutante Margaret found her lost love and they’re happy together. The Glasgow Train Robbery, an asymmetric two player co-op that puts you on the nefarious side of history. We did this three times and won once. Really unique mix of mechanisms here.Beacon Patrol, a co-op tile placement game where each player introduces different scoring opportunities. We played this multiple times across the week, but this one was our best score.

Comic Shop News remains a baffling production.
Opens twelve issues after the original series? Huh???

“Dark Knights of Steel II #1 (DC, $4.99) opens twelve issues after the original series concluded, with a kingdom of capes torn between the dynasties of El, Wayne, and Themyscira.”Issue #1100 is the four digit milestone? What about issue #1000?

“Action Comics #1100
DC's Action Comics #1100 hits the four-digit milestone (!) which means a thousand-and-one issues of Superman. Wow. Multiple creators are kicking in for this celebration of the Man of Steel.”They somehow managed to use cover art that omits Grant Morrison and Tony Daniels but includes everybody else? Why is it editorial practice to italicize peoples’ names in copy?
