Anyway I'll chunk out some kind of review soon, it's still worthwhile. It's consistent, unlike Dream Team, and it's not gameplay-tedious in combat, unlike P.I.T. so I'd probably rank it square in the middle of the series, which is good!

overdo* There are some games where backtracking is not only good but ideal, this one DOES do it well but that starts to waver once the fourth major area shaves off 2 islands for no reason. The last major backtracking isn't super well handled either but it fits the theme so it's not too bad

At last, I'm done Brothership. This game got shockingly hard compared to the rest of the series in its mandatory sections, usually they reserve the hard content for optional side modes with hefty rewards attached... but either way, a quite good game. It does overdue backtracking though lol

I'm definitely feeling the end is upon me now that I've defeated / solved what appears to be every single sidequest and optional boss before entering the last dungeon in the middle of the map... I do recall seeing a lot of complaints the game was too long, I can see it but don't agree honestly

I think my biggest ick here is child Link's face, or more specifically, how little we see it emote and his freakishly detailed and large eyebrows. I totally get that for when he's, you know, an ADULT. But as a kid...? Child Zelda ain't doing it for me, either... they nailed Darunia though

I've seen an enormous amount of takes on the OOT style and as a whole I don't really know if I dislike it or like it, but I'll definitely give the team that it is DISTINCT and hyper-detailed. Since we know for a fact those 3 are on the table, one is in development, and now Onimusha is back, I would not be surprised at all if Okami 2 (which we know to be real) and other dormant IP are also on the shortlist like Darkstalkers, Final Fight, Viewtiful Joe... lot to pull from here

I feel bad for the developers who were likely told by suits "use it or else" but now we're at a point where they've BEEN paid. So if you want to boycott this game, you totally can. And Japan has laws preventing Sega from letting these people go, so even better to "revolt" than any western studio

This isn't a controversy, it's a moral barrier to entry. Either you tell Sega it's ok to use GenAI by purchasing this even if they removed it following backlash, or you don't buy the game and Sega's shareholders somehow conclude CT is not a popular series anymore if they're able to ignore the outcry

Only very specific enemies are "too hard" and it all comes down to how you approach the game. If you're open to abandoning an objective temporarily to run around to someplace you haven't checked yet and level up / get better gear in the process, then come back to that obj., you'll be just fine imo
