I need to remind myself that a huge audience for this show watched it on tiny black and white sets. The lighting for a lot of scenes makes sense with that context

I felt compelled to sketch up a mascot for my futuristic Olympiad game in development. So, please take a moment to say hello to Tock! Designed to observe, celebrate, and preserve every moment of Chronolympic competition, Tock is always watching for extraordinary achievement!
You can see my sprite artist insticts at work here with three differ poses of Tock, an anthropomorphic camera with arms and legs and a gold, silver, bronze pedastal sticking out of his head. Tock loves you. You must love Tock.

All gave some Some...all gave?
An American flag mocked up to celebrate?... That's a weird thing to celebrate, but let's go with honor... 9/11 and it has the poorly proof read slogan, "All gave some, some all gave." It doesn't matter which direction you read it, it's wrong. We will never forget to proofread.

GNU Terry Pratchett. He wrote something really wonderful that people of any age can enjoy. If you haven't tried out the #discworld novels yet, I highly encourage it. Reading them again was like catching up with an old friend. It was a delight.

I missed this puce joke The first time I read Terry Pratchett's "Raising Steam," but its pretty good
Adora Belle could almost read the messages simply by watching the towers, but you had to be very, very fast; and the goblins were even faster than that. And who ever would have thought their eyesight was so discerning? Using the new augmented colour shutter boxes after dark, most human clacks spotters could separate about four or five or maybe even six colours on a very good clear night, but who could have imagined that goblins, fresh out of their caves, would be uncannily able even to identify puce as opposed to pink, while most humans didn't have a clue what a damn puce was

if they saw it?Harry King almost screamed, 'No, no, no! I like you, I

like you a lot, but business is, well, business is business!' Harry's face was now puce with anger. "You don't go and tell anyone that you'll take whatever they want to give you! You bargain, lad. Don't get starry-eyed! You bargain. You bargain hard.'

I've been working on some event icons for my sports simulator, and I really love this type of work. This is a really easy way to give the events some character. Here is Pummel Horse and Very Uneven Bars.
A gymnast is doing a pommel horse routine on a horse. I might give them boxing gloves later. This is a gymnast swinging on two uneven bars except they are very, very far part. like one is 6 feet above the other.

September first is Karl Ernst's birthday. Whatley is a big fan.
Karl Ernst, a Nazi SS officer who looks like a play dough that was left out in the sun. was an SA-Gruppenführer who, from March 1933, was the SA commander in Berlin. Prior to joining the Nazi Party, he had been a hotel bellhop and a bouncer at gay nightclubs.[1] He was one of the chief participants in the extrajudicial execution of Albrecht Höhler. Ernst was himself extrajudicially executed in the Night of the Long Knives.
