❄️ Recent icy conditions across the Forth catchment mean our rivers are at their coldest, with fish conserving energy through winter. Cold, clean, oxygen-rich water helps wildlife thrive year-round. Willow spilling, 5 months on ⏩ Back in March, we worked with @forthriverstrust.bsky.social to stabilise sections of the White Burn that runs through #Blaeberry Wood 🌊 Look at the growth already. Job well done - the wonders of willow! 🍃
Two side-by-side photos. The left is titled 'Before' and shows a bend in a river with an eroding bank. There are piles of willow in a gap between the riverbank and a makeshift fence made of thinner rods of woven willow whips. The right-hand 'After' photo shows the willow has grown above the edge of the riverbank and coloured the section a vibrant green.
