When I got my BA, Photoshop & Illustrator were new. The world of art, illustration and graphic design was beginning to evolve to digital. A lot of what I learned was barley relevant as it was being taught and the instructors couldn't keep up. We learned this shit together. Look at us now. 😔

A old, beige sheet of music entitled “Violino” with 10 staves. However, instead of notes, there are 102 black cats and 3 black mice playing all over the staves. The music appears to be written in Treble clef, starts with 3/4 timing, switched midway to 12/8 timing, and has several Birds Eye’s. There is some notations on several staves, but the writing is hard to read.

Beautiful 1860s Victorian butterfly, which was used to store small packets of sewing needles on the underside of the wings. This was a collaboration between a London-based drapers company and a sewing needle manufacturer. On exhibit at Tatter Blue, a Brooklyn textile museum. IG tatterbluelibrary

The underside of the butterfly, which has little pockets to store sewing needle packets. The underside of the wings are decorated with two plates. One carries an inscription of the drapers company: "Copestake, Moore, Crampton & Co. - London." The other has a gilded head of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom, art, trade, and war.

The butterfly can be folded up, like how a butterfly flaps its wings.
