I just moved the router in my home network to another physical location, and it was dead simple thanks to the work I’d done labeling which Ethernet port on the switch corresponds to which in the wall. Good job me!

Starting—starting!—to figure out pizza in the new place. Different flour, different tomatoes and cheese, different (electric!) oven, different mixer… but we’re getting there. #pizzursday #pizza #baking #sourdough
A Neapolitan style pizza with spots of mozzarella and large pepperoni. The crust isn’t exactly leoparded but it’s browning in a way that’s not dissimilar.

My eclipse photos are pretty garage—90 seconds is not much time to figure out how your phone camera works!—but it was incredible to see with the naked eye and I recommend it heartily.

A heatwave cartoon for @newscientist.com
1. Title: The North Wind and the Sun quarrelled as to who was the stronger.

2. The Sun says: "I propose a wager: See yonder traveller, let us see who can make him remove his cloak."

3. The northwind blows on the traveller, the sun says: "You blow yet he only wraps it tighter!"

4. The sun shines on the traveller, saying: Observe! . The traveller mutters "nice and warm"

5. The Sun says "See, my kindness brought results!" The traveller has removed hos cloak and begins to sweat. "Fair enough, you win." concedes the North Wind.

6. "Tremble before my gracious heat!" says the sun, smiling bradly. His heat has started a fire. the traveller flees. The North Wind says "I think that’s enough."

7. "Let the world burn with my cleansing benevolence!!" blazes the sun madly, now grown huge in the sky. The land is a burning fireball. "Now you’re scaring me!" says the North Wind anxiously.

Fontainebleau is beautiful and an absolutely unbelievable resource for climbers in Paris. It’s so wild to have world-class bouldering an hour (train ride!) from home. Too bad there’s no sport climbing though… #climbing
A wide angle shot of a boulder with crash pads in front of it. The boulder is 5-10 meters high (sorry I’m not good at meters) and totally riven with pockmarks. It looks like a set from Stargate. There’s a guy at the top, looking over the edge. A bright orange crash pad in front of a boulder. The crash pad is in sunlight and is reflecting onto the boulder face.
