I wonder if I’ve spent more time this year waiting on delayed flights at airports, or waiting on late friends at restaurants.

The hardest part of flying home from Japan is adjusting to the time change. For example in Tokyo I got to experience a future where everyone deserves dignity but I’m flying back to a country intent on pushing itself back to the 1950s. It’s hard to adjust your watch to that.

“What’s it like working at Apple?” A short play. Me, a genius, a renegade intellectual: “Let’s do this thing!” Others: “Ah but have you considered its impact on accessibility towards our users in *this* way?” Me, a fool, a stumbling idiot, a menace: “I have not.”

There are those friends, you'd bury a body for, no questions asked. But there are also those friends, you'd have *a lot* of questions before burying the bodies. And then there are friends that make you wonder… why do so many of my friends keep needing bodies buried?

A scene from Star Trek TOS is used in the “distracted boyfriend” meme format. In a USS Enterprise corridor, a woman in a short gold uniform walks past in the foreground. Two men in the background turn to look at her. The man in the middle (labeled “ME”) looks over his shoulder at the woman, while Captain Kirk, behind him, is labeled “POPULAR MEMES” and also looks in her direction. The woman is labeled “STAR TREK VERSIONS OF POPULAR MEMES.”
