Had 5x5 VO2 hills scheduled while in Paris Instead of letting it go did the session after a 10k with colleagues As a hilly trail runner had to hold 6:30/mi - 4:00/km on the flat to hit VO2 Not since Jan run that pace Ankle sore took couple days Good SWAP pods keeping spirit up #running #runsky

Nothing like a good fuck up to make you pay attention Cutting the last bay window and was in lala land and cut the bloody mullions (the middle vertical pieces that separate the window panes) a couple mm too narrow So now have to glue and clamp a bloody slip of wood to each and let dry 🙈

In the workshop all weekend as usual. Finally done with the monster windows and now building “normal sized”. We have 3 bay windows on the kitchen and this is the center of the first one. Dry fit test before glue as it’s finicky with an exact 15deg angle for each window off the side.

So got my first DNF Won’t pretend I’m not gutted, but still the best running experience of my life I didn’t pack real food was counting on aid station food for the back half but stomach turned and was not able to keep gels down Tried at km72 to recover and couldn’t before cutoff

The back to back long runs are a killer - whew I think they are as great a training tool as the incline treadmill work You get that same “back half” of an ultra feeling with less injury risk Was hard going after the 16mi from yesterday but around 18 miles in got a second wind #running #runsky
