A lot of of the angst that many people w FND experience when we first get diagnosed is downstream of doctors’ confusion about the condition. And they’re confused because they weren’t trained and taught about it. Much important work to be done in med schools

I think of a sensory diet as a way to grow capacity, not manage symptoms. You’re not just coping better: you’re working with a bigger bucket. Taking a break from studies to hang out with trees was an excellent choice, today. 🍃

Crucially, adverse life events are not universally present in FND and should not form the basis for diagnosis. However, when they are present, the nature of stressors shapes the clinical phenotype and should inform an individualised management approach.
