Not that I agree with the proposal, but Metro isn't planning on closing the stops. They would still be served by the 106 and 48. Regardless there is new density between 23rd and I90 that should be served by the R line.

A second tunnel will eventually be needed, yes. Best practices would suggest serving a slightly different corridor rather than a block away. The CD and First Hill need service, and Capitol Hill could use another station or 2. This could still serve the Aurora corridor and/or Ballard.

The C line runs every 7-8 minutes at peak. Are they so full they are leaving people behind? If so doubling frequency would be much cheaper than building the train. I'm not against light rail to WS. It's just not as needed as Ballard-DT and the Metro 8 corridors.

Maybe for those in the immediate Junction area. Otherwise the current C, H, and 21 with bus only lanes most of the way from the bridge downtown are faster than a future transfer. Do you think the Junction area would tolerate a significant upzone to boost ridership? I'm skeptical.

It's a start but once again Rainier Valley gets the shaft by this and the forthcoming ST night buses. The 7 runs overnight but that doesn't help at all going south from the RV.
