Asking payment is always uncomfortable. Here are the (very lowest) rates of pay for a working Artist, as recommended by the Scottish Artists Union (SAU) for 2026/2027. #RatesOfPay #art #artist #ArtistsRates #pay #PayYourFuckingIllustrators #union

Graphic. Black text on a pale background. Reads, "Based on Scottish Artists Union (SAU) recommended rates (2026-2027)*
Hourly from £31GBP
Sessional** from £248GBP/daily from £124GBP/half day
Residency from £33,255 per annum (pro rata)
Depending on experience in particular creative field.
*These Recommended Rates of Pay are provided for guidance purposes, as artists are, at all times, free to negotiate rates of pay different to those set out above.
**Based on a minimum 8 hour day. 4 hour half day.

The "artists are, at all times, free to negotiate
rates of pay different to those set out above" is in green text.

Having failed to locate a suitably shaped handle, I created one from foil and other bits (not having any metalworking capability currently). #prop #cosplay #craft #art #maker #CaneSword #ZNation

Zed-Whacker by Fluffgar 2026 Thankyou, everyone, for your encouragement <3 #prop #cosplay #ZNation #horror #comedy #ZWhacker #ZedWhacker #HorrorCon #Scotland #PuppiesAndKittens #DeltaXrayDelta #DXD #OperationBiteMark

Photo. A toy baseball bat has been painted to look like it is made of a silvery metal. A wide band has been added near the hitting end and made to look as if it is riveted on. Six long spikes have been added around this, sticking straight out. A single long spike juts from the hitting end of the bat. The handle is wrapped in black cloth with a slight sheen to it.

Photo. A phone case decorated to resemble the magic book from the Evil Dead series of films and television. The book appears to have a dried twisted set of empty facial features. It is brown in colour. Very textured.

Happy #ZNation Day, to all who celebrate! #BlackSummer #PuppiesAndKittens #ZombieApocalypse #ZNationDay

Screenshot. Episode 01, Season 01 of Z Nation. Title: Puppies and Kittens. Shot from above. We see a pair of soldiers running from a group of zombies. They are on a dirt track on dry looking scrubland. At the bottom centre of the image is text reading, "May 5th 02 A.Z". (A.Z. presumably standing for After Zombies).

Getting a bit of artist's bloc. Decided to improve some other aspects of the craft. Bought framed blank canvases and am improving them prior to use. Sure some professional framers will wince at my efforts. But we all begin somewhere. Tips welcomed. #art #artists #DIY pixelfed.scot/p/fluffgar/8...

It's so sweet, isn't it? I have my own cuddle-bear. A grey and white chonker. He's adorable.
