I've been so lucky in the writer friends I have made over the years. Beta reading for people who now make bestsellers, writing with authors I admire greatly, even being PUBLISHED with some. But I'm a person. And a disabled person at that. I don't have a big plan. I just have friends.

I deeply miss feeling more connected to other writers, and I think people think about writers 'networking' or 'making advantageous friendships'. But, I am not and have never been an advantageous friend as a writer. I make friends because this whole experience is LONELY without people who GET IT.

Honestly again it depends on my work. At the moment I'm very early drafting something that is entirely based on community, assumptions made about groups of people, and how senses of community in a fantasy world can lead to a warping of society and a fake sense of security.
