Gary Hocking, motorcycle racer turned car racer, was born #OnThisDay in ’37 at Caerleon, Wales, & was killed at Westmead, South Africa, aged 25. Pic: 3 months earlier he’d entered the #OultonParkGoldCup & qualified a Lotus 18/21 on the 3rd row. Had he lived you’d have heard of him. He was superfast.

I don't know the name for it but if you set up your phone for a robot to ask callers what they want then I'm just disconnecting the call. Same applies for companies that use a robot to make calls and then tell you to hold. Same applies for secrateries who phone and tell you to hold for their boss.

I don't like gift bags. I always wrap my presents. I think it show's you put a bit of effort in and didn't just bung everything in a bag. Also isn't unwrapping a present just the most exciting feeling in the world.

One of the biggest blind spots of the environmental movement (that I’ve been part of for decades) is that affordability on paper is *not the same* as the daily reality for most people. I suspect it comes from the fact a lot of the voices in the sector are people from relatively wealthy… 1/2

The lack of overtaking at #Madring isn't my main gripe with the #SpanishGP. Overtaking shouldn't be easy and a duel can be exciting even if the chasing driver can't pass. The stupid obligatory tyre strategy rules are what really irritate me and the unfairness of VSC and Safety Car periods #F1

I don't have as much of an issue with the #Madring as I do with the forced tyre strategy in #F1. Unfair how a driver loses due to random events. Give them a set of hard tyres to go the distance and send them out to race.

The thing is: They make billions but #FIA can’t pay for professional people. The marshalls literally get a coupon for a sandwich. 20 FIA engineers make the rules without much simulations, per team about 200 figure out how to break them.
