The outlook and feel of the Pels would be worlds different had Joe Dumars just put minimal protections on that pick

Here's two hilarious moments from tonight's Derik Queen presser. First is DeAndre Jordan telling Queen to stand up while giving his interview and Queen clowning him back later

When Willie is gone, so is the excuse for Joe Dumars and Troy Weaver. What happens next should viewed as their responsibility. (Even tho they put this awful roster together for Green).

Any change from Dumars will require selling Gayle Benson on the idea. Benson turned down David Griffin's request to fire Green multiple times. It would not surprise me if Dumars is ultimately successful in the next few weeks.

I reported earlier in the summer that Willie Green had lost support from the players and organization, yet Dumars was mandated by Benson to keep him around. Green still does not have the locker and the Pelicans patience is wearing thin. Players are checked out and management sees it.

The Pelicans are bringing in Mike Hopkins as an assistant coach to lead their player development per Pete Thamel. Hopkins goes back with Troy Weaver to Syracuse where they were on the staff together and won a championship in 2003

Herb could have waited until next year to secure more years or hit free agency to avoid the 140% rule if he thought he could get more money. But securing the money now is a trend we are seeing all across the NBA. Evidence CBA is working

I think the Pelicans should throw caution to the wind and just go get Walker Kessler. Next year's pick is a sunk cost, but the opportunity to grab an elite defensive bit is too good to pass up. intheno.substack.com/p/damn-the-t...

I'm skeptical Cleveland is going to move Garland but there's a case for him as the best player in the 2019 class. Ahead of Zion and Ja. I'd absolutely go get him

Pelicans lose Rim/3 battle to the Suns 70.53-76.47%, making it 0/23 on the season in the Rim/3 battle, still the only team in the NBA yet to win the battle in a single game. Every other team in the NBA has won the battle in at least 6 games. They did win the Shot Quality battle vs Phoenix though!

There's a widespread expectation among league sources that when Brandon Ingram's 15 days are up and he is eligible to sign with a new agency, he will sign with Klutch. Obviously none of this is official yet because it can't be.
