Rather than make the Kraken move, he shoves the table back to give him room to work, and then takes the comb and starts combing back the Kraken's hair. Though, with the way he detangled and moisturized, the way it slips through his hair like a sharp sword through enemy flesh, he probably could've used his fingers, and once he has it mostly situated, he does. Starts combing and separating and weaving until the hair at his scalp starts to come together into the start of a dutch braid. And the further he braids the more excited he gets, until he's practically bouncing on the balls of his feet, or would be if he wasn't laser focused on threading every strand perfectly up under the other.

"Bro," he says, can't keep it in anymore. "This shit looks amazing."

The Kraken just huffs, and Ed can't see his face, but he can tell just by the set of his shoulders that he's (at least playing at being) unimpressed.

"Fuck you," he says heatlessly. "We both know what a pain in the ass it is to get all that hair to cooperate into a braid, especially with our shit shoulders, especially especially neatly. It's gonna look great and you're gonna love it." He says that last part with the cadence of an order, but internally, it's a promise.
