I FINALLY beat a run of Balatro. Happy new year everyone!

Flew back in to LA tonight and this is the first time I noticed the industrial parts of the city look like chips on an old school motherboard.

Aerial view of Los Angeles at night from Frontier flight 4145 seat 4f on 12/27/25 around 730pm pst. The view is looking north. The industrial part of the city looks like chips on an old school motherboard.

No prob! Thanks for pic. They do internal rgb to comp. I’m curious to see what they say when the respond to my support email. I’m assuming my issue is a big outlier as I would imagine they would build in circuit protection of some kind, that I blew past. www.kickstarter.com/projects/hdr...

I’m worried that somehow I bricked 2 component cables as these have transcoders for rgb to component in them. The Saturn works fine with svideo but I know the component cables use more pins. I’ve included a video.

Well that’s fun. Old Roku barely able to navigate the UI but it outputs composite. Those videos look good! I think LTT shoots in 6k?

I’m also loving the @collingall.bsky.social #laserbear replacement wireless dongle for #Gamecube. Worked flawlessly!

This cheap-o vga adapter actually doesn’t do a bad job at all! I’m very surprise and it’s got a decent amount of options for $15 bucks @retrorgb.com

Added a matrixed Dell 1704FPTT (lovely lcd got 23 years ago lol) and a street found Panasonic 10” crt I fixed up. Next up is getting a signal from Retrotink4k sent here & then splitters to be able to record HDMI footage while also sending signals to these two and my LGC3. Exciting!

#youtube nailed it! Pun intended. The second image def cracked me up though cause I love explaining nerdy shit.

YouTube’s year recap for the FixOrBricks account. It says he is in the 10% of people labeled as “the skill builder”

YouTube awarded FixOrBricks for 2025 “most likely to build a cool gadget and then explain how it works to everyone”. Aka he talks to damn much about nerd shit. Nice red background!

Comparing to yours. I see vertical black stripes, is that the mask? I’m not running one…so perhaps that’s the difference?

Fix or Bricks @fixorbricks.bsky.social · 04/12/2025

When I zoom in I don’t see the individual dots that make up the pixel… I am connected via svideo direct to the tink.

Fix or Bricks @fixorbricks.bsky.social · 04/12/2025

Ive got SOTN running on Saturn using new RT4k econserve Scanlines but I don’t see the individual rgb dots (I forget what they are called) like In your picture when I zoom into it, am I setting it up wrong? I have the modeline chosen etc as per Bobs instructions. Scanlines I think look rightthoughts?

So the same repair shop I got all those consoles from yesterday, my buddy there said he got this great pc for $90 at a swap and it has $500 in parts, but stopped working. I got it booted and he gave me this original Xbox bag for free! And it has the manual in it! Taking it to the cleaners now.

Sweet haul of projects / parts consoles for $100 bucks! Half of them turn on.

I found this cute 10.5 inch Panasonic outside, filled with a horrible disgusting roach mess. Full soaks in vinegar to neutralize, multiple IPA baths, reflow and repair solder, remask traces, resolder add-in board, adjust color and geometry pots, it works great aside from two buttons and a speaker!

Yes it’s strange. But now it’s back! Btw I was at the $20 level and switched down recently due to financial woes. I was curious about the perks for that level? I didn’t see how to grab those deck of cards etc. Love all the shows Scott! I’m a listener for 15+ years. And I’m excited NT’s comin back!

This game is hilarious and kinda sexy at times haha. It was even QUITE creepy earlier during the cutscene with evil links and the creepy floating upside down Zelda’s.

@retrotink.com I’ve got my ps3 hooked up to my retrotink through a good hdcp stripper and then in an hdmi switcher that retrorgb recommends. My ps3 is set to rgb full in the system settings and the tink is set to receive full as well. On the stats page it still reads limited. Any thoughts?

What a find! The beautiful And badass single disc cd player from NAD Electronics, model 5325, made in Japan 1989. $55 bucks in a thrift store. Tested it inside the store with a random disc and it works. Will this sound better than my ps1? Let’s see!

Blast Wind is badass!! Played on original hardware through the @retrotink.com 4k on LGc3 through very crappy composite cables (for now). Full Saturn “pro” video coming soon I swear. I just keep adding stuff to the video! It’s a feature film now lol.

@blueshell3d.com I was gifted a Tetris in a tin, yours looks way easier to hold not to mention performant! This thing barely plays and slows down when you send a piece to the bottom or cycle left 🤣 Still kinda cool though.

I spent those Nintendo points and got this. Dilemma is do I open and wear or save it sealed for 20 years and cash in when I’m 60? 🤣

Holy crap, Christmas came early! Found this cute little slightly yellowed Panasonic 10” with composite and rf! Super bright! What a lovely design too. Sticker came off, anyone know what model this is?

You know what’s awesome? I’m still earning trophies on my 18 yr old PS3 cause @playstation.com keeps the servers up! Hell, I can still buy games in the store, but they’re pricey. I bet if they put those on sale there’d be quite a lot of money flowing into the store.
