Reminds me of the struggle Rick Beato has gone through on YouTube doing music analysis and critiques. He dug in and fought them (and had won every time on fair use grounds), but it definitely has a chilling effect. youtu.be/M8HxQkk0PSY?...

I’m in the 3 dot camp. From a UI standpoint, three dots tells you what you need to know. “There are a total of three outs in an inning, and there are currently this many outs so far.” There may have been good reasons to use only 2 in the past, but not now. (Kind of like two spaces after a period.)

Just caught "America's Favorite Podcast Within a Podcast" on the last Vergecast, and I knew immediately where that theme song remix was going. Once you start with Gregorian chant, it's the logical next step. @reckless.bsky.social @davidpierce.xyz @theverge.com

Yeah, you're right. "Jurassic Park" was 1993 and they were doing CG dinosaurs, so wire removal was probably very doable. (I sometimes forget that was all the way back in '93, what they were able to pull off with CG and combining it with all of the other traditional tricks. That and "Terminator 2".)

Yeah, feels like a classic case of "enshittification".

I've seen these pause ads too, and I think they are part of HBO Max on the ad-supported tier. I've also seen them on ad-supported Peacock TV as well. (Incidentally, we use a Roku streaming stick but I've been thinking about an Apple TV just for the general lack of clutter and better experience.)

(Also, you can see the air ram throwing the cop car up.)

I love this era of action movies. What are they doing for the stunt people? Just launching them and have crash pads concealed in the grass? This would be before wire removal right?

There must be a subreddit or social media account that collects examples like this where the AI chat bot reply is included in the output by mistake. It’s the modern version of leaving “lorem ipsum” text in the final product.
