I am not tall and I still have to alternate between soaking the torso and soaking the legs. I'm like a flesh seiche.

Interesting...I've never tasted one despite growing (and usually killing) them for seven years. Would love to try someday, maybe next year!

Ooh, fun photo prompt for October. Here's I found some of a squirrel on a hike through the woods. Raptor? Not sure. #SpookyNature

If the stream contains fish there are protections required like no equipment or clear cutting.

Everybody likes it, even the foresters. My agency is constitutionally mandated to maximize revenue, but within the confines of the law. When the law protects the stream, it makes everyone's job simpler.

Today I discovered some beautiful fish in beautiful creek -> riparian trees now protected from harvest. ✅ 🐟

Wow! It frosted on my car windshield last week, but the garden didn't get it. They're forecasting 80F even in Kootenai County on Sunday, which is obviously crazy.

I decided to set up a trail camera across the creek pointed at this rock in the hopes that I could capture a photo of the critters using this community bulletin board.

What intrigued me about it was that it was advertised as a physical book, but like...how could a printer be involved? I see how A.I. ebook ripoffs could be made ad infinitum, but how had some business actually agreed to print illegal garbage for Amazon distribution? I still don't know. #booksky

Colton the fish squeezer🐟🪴📚🏕️🐝 @fishsqueezer.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
When an actual physical garbage book arrived (much to my surprise) I pointed out to Amazon that selling A.I. ripoffs of wildly popular fantasy books was illegal. They refunded my money. So I guess I've still never paid? I've only skimmed it because the book is insultingly bad. Such a weird timeline.

Colton the fish squeezer🐟🪴📚🏕️🐝 @fishsqueezer.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
The only time I've ever (sort of) paid for A.I. was a time I saw a book for sale on Amazon that was such a blatant and audacious ripoff of Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive magnum opus that I couldn't believe it was possible. I paid $9 as an experiment to see if it was real.
A copy of Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings sits on a coffee table next to another book called The Way of Kings: a New Dawn by some made up author named Glenda Hidleston. The covers both have very similar and hilariously dramatic art of a caped guy with a big sword under a turbulent sky.

One time while I was electrofishing in a tributary of the St. Joe River I captured an Idaho giant salamander that was eating a water shrew. It spit it out into my net. I was very disappointed to have not been able to photograph it while it was in the salamander's mouth, but I can't blame it. 🦊🐍

I did read the editorial, so I'm sufficiently confused. With some more digging it appears they later became "game mammals" in 1970? I don't understand these tiers of hunting regulation.

Black bears in Oregon were apparently reclassified from predators (unprotected) to game animals (regulated harvest) in 1961, with additional restrictions on hound hunting and bait in the 90s.
