I'm sure you're already aware but Canada updated their laws for citizenship via ancestry recently in Bill C-3. Essentially it eliminated the first generation limit for descendants born outside of Canada and now any direct lineage would qualify for citizenship.

Might be in the minority but I really hate modern digital stores for this. I don't need some fancy looking store that looks good but it is a nightmare to navigate. For all the faults of the original PS3 store it let me search specific categories in specific ways to find stuff and loaded fast.

This would be a Nintendo requirement imposed on Square Enix to allow the game on their platform. Making all purchases/subscriptions require eShop microtransactions lets Nintendo take 30% of all the game's income generated and not just 30% of initial starter edition/expansion sales.

Likewise the higher games get the less likely I am to buy all of them. Life Is Strange Reunion, Hades II, Silent Hill Townfall, Once Upon A Katamari, Silksong, Pragmata, Directive 8020, Zero Company.... All launched for $20-$60 and I bought them all because of it. No chance if they were all $70.

Yeah they're planning on ending physical games in a year. Until then producing a second disc is an increase in revenue over producing one disc. More discs = more revenue, no discs = 30% cut of all sales. It would make no sense to not allow a company a second disc when they have to buy the discs.

This is from Does It Play?'s website. FFVII Remake on PS5 was on one disc and required a download. This is not the first time Square has done this for this series so I have no clue why people are so insistent that they have no fault here.

I'm not here saying Sony is right to do anything but to ignore that the developer/publisher can also be shit with decisions is ridiculous in its own right. As far back as the PS3/360 we had devs/pubs requiring downloads for some games instead of putting everything on disc.

PS5 version of Remake had a single disc and Square constantly harps about their games "not meeting expectations." It is fully in character for them to seek to cut costs where they can. This is the company that shipped off Hitman and Tomb Raider after successful reboots because of money concerns.

We have legal rulings against Apple in the USA and EU over their products being a "walled garden." The rulings forced them to allow outside purchases, payments, and downloads to happen without use of their App Store. Once Sony ends physical games their consoles will be the same "walled garden."

It's actually, at least in part, explicitly due to decisions on physical media. The Xbox brand took its first sharp nosedive with the Xbox One which, you guessed it, wanted to harm physical media beyond recognition with mandatory internet connections and verifications.
