I Want Your Sex was surprisingly delightful. What I’ve always appreciated about Araki, even when I actively dislike the movie in front of me, is that there is never any doubt whatsoever that a Gregg Araki film has occurred. His films don't happen while attempting something sensible.

Net.goth in the '90s? you knew Razor Blade Smile. Talked about on alt.gothic like it was a transmission from our own little republic. It wasn't good. Neither were half the Gregg Araki films we adored. That's never really been the point. Some movies aren't classics. They're fossils of a subculture.

So much of 80's comedy was simply built on characters whose main trait was being horny and underqualified. So many jokes from that era don’t land in the modern sense because landing wasn’t always the point. Cavegirl (1985) - Daniel Roebuck's first real role is a pretty good forgotten example
