Oh my word! I hope you like it. I deliberately played it straight rather than adding any frills. I've played so many weird/mash-up style games recently I felt like staying true to the genre (rather than making it a game of fox-people at school etc). I started a new run of it yesterday and

Sluttish used to mean untidy and not cleaned up. A “slut” was someone who kept an untidy or an unclean house. The modern version derives from that original meaning. Sam here is complaining that his wife didn’t wash or present herself as he thought she should (curlers, smoking a cigarette etc)

I'm not impressed by people who haven't been around as long as some of my shoes telling me what it was really about and what it was really like, and if you aren't losing a character a session you're doing it wrong.

about "OSR" is clearly written by people who treat the rulebooks as sacred documents in ways we never did - hell the rules explicitly tell you to make stuff up and make it your own. Far from being the one-true-way that must be replicated at all cost, we treated them as doorways to imagination and

My biggest gripe with the OSR is all the "This is how it was played, it was brutal and unforgiving and etc etc etc" I was there. It wasn't. We tinkered. We house-ruled. We added in story stuff. We did get attached to characters. We wrote backstories. We had fun. A lot of the dialogue

Oh come now, the US would never use an atrocity committed by one group, person or nation as an excuse to launch a military action against a different one. Again.
