I was on the waitlist for five years to get a community garden plot and there will be some FLOWERS

The plot, as newly inherited, had not been overwintered and came with purple broccoli, bolting kale, and wall to wall weeds.

One day of brassica harvest and two days of weeding later, I had a clean slate.

Started out thinking the one quadrant would be flowers, needing to get dad’s peonies in asap, tossed in some cheap dahlias, black mondo grass, and Calibrachoa.

A large dog stomped across the corner so the cages are up early! Now flowers will be fully half the plot. Poppies, begonias, nemophila, a rose, a black ipomea. More bulbs are coming. Found a perfect ceramic froggie.
