Yes! Several to many. I don’t currently have periods but when I did I was kind of erotically fascinated by them (gender reasons + also Blood), but my draw to needles is pretty different from any other desire I have and isn’t just blood centric.

If you’re in/around Glasgow go see the AIDS memorial quilt. It’s huge and overwhelming, each patch sewn in the aftermath of a death. It’s angry, longing, funny, horny, adoring, a remarkable collection of people’s grief. Odd to watch strangers cry, and in turn to cry in front of them.

Steven Amaral was a fashion designer. He hung on to life despite the debilitating effects of AIDS. He softened in a beautifull way as he moved towards death. AIDS did not destroy his soul, and yet I know it did not have to happen.
