#NowWatching It's a rainy night here in Lewiston and I can't seem to focus enough to watch something new, but it's never a bad time for Identity.

Going through my letterboxd to find obscure horror recommendations and...man, I have forgotten everything about a ton of films I've seen over the years. I cannot remember anything beyond a general plot synopsis. It's crazy.

I wrote some thoughts on Obsession, mostly pertaining to rejection sensitivity, and how this movie is narratively focused on the wrong person. moviehurts.blogspot.com/2026/10/woul...

Listened to the soundtrack to Miasma on my way to work and it was a huge cheer up. That movie is truly wonderful and uplifting. Are people bringing up that it's also basically Men, Women, and Chainsaws:The Movie? Like, all Carol Clovers theories about feminism and eyes and all that is in there.

I'm back, baby. Gonna keep a film diary, personal experiences and thoughts and such. Anyway, I loved Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, so pipe down. moviehurts.blogspot.com/2026/10/if-i... #janeschoenbrun #teenagesexanddeathatcampmiasma #movies

I didn't expect Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma to directly attack me with my own feelings on sex, kink, *and* my connection to cinema, and yet hear I sit, stunned by a film that reflected myself back at me. Utterly astonishing film. Just something else. I think I cried a little. Four times.

#NowWatching Going to try and do some new release horror for #31daysofhalloween, even though I'm starting late. But here we go...

#NowWatching Every so often, I throw this movie on again, hoping to discover something, *anything* that works, and it never happens. There are some admittedly cool sequences and camera work on occasion, but it can't outweigh the crushing weight of a nonsensical story and confusing performances.

This week, on Insane Troll Logic, we do two more episodes of Angel! With Birthday, we talk about a nice change of pace for Cordelia, and pacing issues with Provider! We'll be on hiatus for a couple weeks, and will return with some new episodes of #Buffy! insanetrollogic.podbean.com/e/episode-06...

I enjoyed It Ends quite a bit. My kind of weird, quiet, existential, pretentious art film. Won't be for everyone (calling it a horror film might be a disservice in this case, though it has elements), but the ambiguous nature of the film really spoke to me.

If you've ever had the thought "landlords are people too" I cannot recommend more highly to get into a landlord-only Facebook group or subreddit and see how they talk about the people who provide the entirety of their income.

Woke up feeling like I got hit by a truck. Good thing I cleared my schedule in advance. Flu shot kicked my ass.

#NowWatching Starting to feel the shots, and I recently did the Lord of the Rings, so I'll do the far inferior but occasionally charming Hobbit films.

#NowWatching Home alone tonight, so I thought I'd get a little blazed and watch a favorite.

Jack apparently likes Joe Bob, so it may end up being the main theme for Halloween this year. Joe Bob episodes.

#NowWatching On a whim, decided to continue (re:properly start?) #Halloween season viewing with a Joe Bob Special (been awhile since I've watched one) viewing of the debut of Art The Clown (maybe this is the year I do the whole Art thing?).

Probably should read "influential" or "commercially/critically successful" instead of "best." It's weird. Feels like 15 years of Supernatural should probably count for more than two seasons of THE OA, for instance, but LOST is at a good number, and I can't hate any list that includes COMMUNITY.

This was surprisingly better than I remembered it being. It isn't really Halloween related (other than, yknow, pumpkin) despite the internet saying otherwise, but it's actually a pretty good looking movie with occasional flashes of rural folk horror greatness. Lots of flaws, but fun.

#NowWatching Celebrating #BatmanDay with a decent adaptation of one of the greatest Batman stories of all time, while also continuing my early #Halloween viewing. Jensen Ackles does a good Batman.

If only Batman Forever could have been the big campy gay romp it wants to be. Instead they try to back away from it and double down on dual-identities in a heteronormative system. Probably because the involvement of Robin scared them.
